I love pictures...

I love pictures. They are fun to take, sorta fun to be in, and wonderful to hang on my walls. Our friend John, who is in photography school, took the most wonderful pictures of CW and ZM over Thanksgiving. He put some of them up on his blog here. I can't believe how incredibly talented he is...as I previously pointed out, this is not my area of talent.

Cloth

Have I mentioned I love (*LOVE*) cloth diapers. They are totally addictive! For those who cloth know EXACTLY what I am talking about. Plus right now ZM and CW are wearing the same size diapers so this is much cheaper than buying tons of diapers.

But, to ooo about my diapers, I got several new ones this week. Normally we use TFFs but I decided to branch out. I ended up with a Goodmama, 2 MonkeyBunz, and a Piddle Poodle...plus a couple bg fitteds. The thing that is driving me nuts though is that my new covers are leaking. I think I got two bad ones so I have a phone call into the company. Hopefully they will replace them soon.

So come on mamas (and papas) what are your favorite cloth??? Personally, I am really liking the piddle poodle more than the goodmama (gasp!) but my favorites seem to be the bamboo bgs (and they are so much cheaper than the others).

Funny, Funny Child

She never ceases to amaze me....

Yesterday evening we got back from our wonderful trip to Kansas. It was raining and all around cold so we got both kids changed into their pjs. ZM was sitting in his bouncy seat while CW was running around drinking her juice. But she kept stealing the paci from ZM. This has been an ongoing issue, she hasn't used a paci for over 6 months but suddenly she wants his. Finally in an effort to stop this we explained that she was a big girl and big girls get juice but if she wanted the paci then she couldn't have her juice. So she stole the paci and we took away her juice (yes mean mean mommy). She gave it back and got her juice back. This happened a second time. After this I commented to hubby that this was going to blow up in our face when she traded the juice for the paci. Not even five minutes later she walks up, hands me the juice, pulls the paci out of Z's mouth and takes off. running. giggling.
Yup that's my daughter...her mother's child!
Then this morning I was changing Z's diaper. Now you all know what happens when you change little boys diapers. I was really careful and kept it covered but I needed a new diaper cover so I was over looking in the laundry basket when I heard "splash splash splash" and hear C giggle. Hmmm. C in her sweetness thought Z would want to go nakie and took the diaper that was covering Z off. Pee all over my nightstand and the floor.
Again, that's my daughter!

My own creativity...

I am probably the least creative person you know. My friend Nat knits wonderfully beautiful things, my friend Meg makes her own diapers, our friend John takes great pictures (usually of my kids) and other friends create scrapbooks for their children....I do none of these! Now when CW and ZM are old enough I will be great at helping with homework but creative things like art are going to be at risk.

So you can imagine how incredibly proud I am of the fact that I made CW a tutu. Keep in mind I have been looking for a reason to get her a tutu for EVER. Hubby kept saying no. I finally, brilliantly if I do say so myself, figured out that if I made her be Tinkerbell for Halloween then I could get a tutu. But of course when I recommended Tinkerbell, hubby started getting all technical about it--he loves the Peter Pan story. And OBVIOUSLY none of the tutus I could find were up to 'his' standard. Since google is my friend, I figured I would just find an easy to make one and make one, cause obviously he wouldn't be dumb enough to criticize one that his wife so lovingly made lol. Luckily it is a rather easy project and I managed not to screw it--well at least I think it is perfect. It was so easy I made another one this weekend that is two shades of blue. But according to dear old Mother in law I made it too tight--thus too puffy! Luckily that wonderful baby of mine doesn't care and twirls around whenever you put it on her.

October

Have I mentioned that I love October. It is such a wonderful time of year, the weather is gorgeous. And there is BASEBALL! Being from Nebraska you would think we would be a football fan family but hubby is a KU fan so that destroys that...so we watch baseball.

We actually happen to be down in good old Kansas visiting family. We went out to eat lunch around noon today, keeping in mind the KU game started at 1130. The resturant was really empty so I commented to hubby that it was nice because no one was there due to the game. He looks at me and laughs and says they aren't busy cause it is a little early for the lunch rush, we aren't in Nebraska, life doesn't stop for KU like it does for the Huskers.

Have I mentioned Boston is winning against Tampa Bay....

Where, oh where, does the time go

I just realized that I have failed in all my blogging efforts the last couple of weeks (okay, lets say months just to be fair!). Between school and work my computer time has been severly limited.

Just to update you, I am no longer Pregers (YIPPEE). ZM decided to come three and a half weeks early so we had a great SEPTEMBER surprise! He is a wonderful baby and is doing very well despite being in the NICU for a couple of days. If CW would get rid of this fever our house would be golden. Especially since ZM sleeps through the night and so does CW when she isn't sick. *Yes you can hate me*

I promise to be more up on my postings!!

PS GO BOSTON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Gotta love the race for OCTOBER...

Not enough hours in the day and I'm cranky

I'm grouchy. And I'm fat since I'm pregnant (this according to dad who told me I have gained too much weight). And I'm cranky.

I'm 4 weeks into classes and i haven't hardly even started one of the classes, but I'll get it done. I finally painted CW's room so she can move into it. Dear hubby moved to days. And room mate from hell is going to be gone the weekend after next. Starting to finally get things in order around here. I even put up curtains in CW's room and now I am putting curtains up in our room. Except I'm still cranky.

I'm swollen and I can't move without pain in my hips. I am so incredibly blessed to be pregnant, except I am miserable. Being pregnant is not my favorite thing by a long run. I just can't wait til this baby comes!!

My project

Remember that project that I wanted to find, well I start class tomorrow and didn't get a single project started. But dear hubby did! We were at the pet store and I commented that CW would probably love a fish bowl to watch. Instead dear hubby laughed and said we needed something bigger...
I now a 55 gal tank with 1 (yes 1) fish sitting in my living room. In his defense the tank has to cycle so we can't add more fish yet but I was the one who needed a project not him.

... well at least CW loves watching the one fish!!

No witty title today

Have I mentioned I'm pregnant??

As dear hubby can attest to, I tend to be quite neurotic when I am pregnant. With CW it wasn't that bad because I spent most of my time hunched over the porcelain god or curled up on the couch doing nothing. But this time he thinks I've lost my mind.

I need a project, not just a little project, but something to keep me entertained until classes start in 2 weeks. This was how I started my masters to begin with, I needed a project. Now here I am again, pregnant again, in need of another project. I suggested ripping up the carpet and flooring in the living room, kitchen, dining room, and hallway then repainting and redoing the floors. He said no. He reminded me that he didn't need a project, he had plenty to do around the house so I needed something more manageable. Boo. What the hell am I suppose to do? I'm bored I tell you.

Did I mention that I also looked into a mommy and me group so I could go 'do' something in the evenings or on Saturdays with CW? Did I mention that all the groups in the area seem to blacklist moms that work? Even my friends who all do mommy groups commented that they are usually reserved to non-working moms. HELLO who the heck put that restriction on it. I have scoured the entire city, looked online, talked to people and let me tell you there are no Saturday groups for moms who work. Granted most working moms probably want to spend time with their hubbies and families on the weekends and I am probably once again the odd one out because hubby works over night and SLEEPS all day Saturday and Sunday. But. I'm. Bored.

So I'm back to needing a project. I hate cleaning so it actually probably won't including cleaning. And I am not at all crafty, in the least. So probably not crafty (the only reason I wanted to rip out the upstairs to paint and such is cause I found pictures of a house I like and want to COPY it!!) Hmmmm. By the time I figure out a darn project I will probably have class start again and then I'll be bored while doing class--not a good combo I don't seem to do my work.

How's that for a neurotic posting???

I'm in trouble...

I figured maybe I should explain the picture that I have posted. Hubby loves baseball--actually that is probably an understatement. After 15+ years of playing we live a lot of baseball. In college it was actually quite annoying because Summer required ball games every weekend and me being the one to travel to see him, because heaven forbid he missed a game. Fall was practice and more games, and spring was the worst. 2-3 games a week or more and very little time to actually see the boyfriend.

Well now he is done playing (thank god!) but he still loves to watch it and even umpires a ton in the summer. All spring, CW and daddy have been watching games together when mom isn't around. This last week Daddy was umpiring a ton of games (something like 55 in 13 days) so I figured we would go out and watch him for a while. It was starting to sprinkle so CW and I were sitting in the car watching. Man was she obsessed! She was so excited every time a play happened and just kept trying to get closer to the windshield (and the action). For a mom that swore she wouldn't play softball because I didn't want to spend entire summers at the ball fields...I think I'm in T.R.O.U.B.L.E!!!

A twenty something mama!

Welcome to my blog!

Since this is my first post, I thought maybe I should tell you a little about me. I am a twenty something mom to a wonderful year old daughter, CW, who is the light of our lives. We are also expecting number #2 in October. I am fortunate enough to have a job that I love that allows me the flexibility that is required to work on school and to take care of her. It also means working for my father. Yes, the irony! Actually, after 5 years, I really love my job. My father and I have had our ups and downs but we have always been able to pull through. Plus he loves to have CW come into the office with me. Hopefully in October we will be able to work it out for me to work from home two days a week while dad is out of the office. If it works, it should be an adventure!

When I was pregnant the first time I decided that I was bored and needed a project...my project turned into getting my Masters in Business Administration. I have 9 more classes or just over 1 year left. I love the program that I am in but I can't wait to finish. When I am done I plan to work on my PhD and hopefully teach college eventually. Can you see why I call it Mama and More...

Besides CW, hubby and I have three wonderful puppies who keeps us on our toes. The puppies love CW so much and it is great to see her interact with them. Sometimes I wish we had more room just so they have more space to run but they don't seem to mind or notice like I do. Our fur-babies include two beautiful red-heeler females who act like sisters (and fight like them too!) and one blue-heeler border collie mix male who could care less what his sisters are up to, unless it involves food.

When it comes to CW, I try to keep a very open mind! We have been cloth diapering since she was 2 weeks old, though I'm not sure I can be considered that 'crunchy'. Cloth diapering is addicting ... as my dear hubby can attest, along with his bank account :) I am always on the look out for cute new diapers for CW and of course for the new one coming!! I love chatting about diapers so I'm sure there will be tons of that around here!!

I'm sure there will be more to come!
