houses for sale...
I hate having our house on the market. Not only is it a pain to keep clean, but everyone is coming through. Now I will be the first to say, this is not my dream house. It is getting crowded and it is time for a new house that I like more. But we have had 15+ showings and we have gotten some great looks. One realtor loves it, a couple really like it, and some hate it. The hate it ones are hard though. As hubby put it, it is our home, where we are raising our children, and to have people be so critical of the place we live is hard. To solve this, I'm not going to look at the feedback anymore, my poor brain can't take it.

10 minute room change
As I have mentioned before, I am not crafty in the least. But one of my friends turned me on to the Nesting Place blog because she is wickedly creative and I love browsing for ideas since I am not crafty enough to think of my own. This week she challenged everyone to change a room in 10 minutes and since we are in the process of selling the house, which is an entirely different post all together, I figured why not show off what I am doing.
The biggest problem with our kitchen is that it is sterile...white wood, white counters, white EVERYTHING except the floors which are a red oak color. Here is the before picture of the kitchen:

My inlaws were kind enough to come up this weekend and my mother in law helped me work on the kitchen. I had already put up the vance (using Nester's ideas of course!) a couple of weeks ago and had started to declutter the cabinets. Luckily mil brought the paint with her from doing her house so I finished it up with only spending $11 dollars on a new rug--which you can't see in this picture, darn.
Here is the final picture:
I don't think the picture truly does the kitchen justice but I'll take the splash of color and the bare cabinets. Thanks for the wonderful project Nester!!
Cross you fingers it sells soon--trying to keep a house clean with a baby bunch (lol gotta throw another of my favorite blogs in there) is going to be the death of me.

what is a blog that isn't the topic of the blog...
Mama and more...that is the topic of this blog. Maybe I should tell you a little about the more. School Sucks! Have I mentioned this. I am currently taking 9 hours in the Masters Program in order to graduate in May. Now you might ask why...oh yeah, because my dream job, yes dream job, requires you to be done by Summer, and since I go to school on a wacky schedule unless I finish in May (graduating in August) I wont' graduate until December. Did I mention that this is my dream job...have I mentioned that they haven't called me back yet???
Nebraska was never part of my plan. I left, packed my car, drove to Kansas, and never looked back. Until I hate that school. I hated it for over a year but I couldn't face going home. I finally talked bf (who is now wonderful hubby) into moving home with me...until his mama got involved and then he stayed in Kansas. I came home, with no intention of staying home, but then dad offerred me a job. Hubby says I can't say no to him, and I can't, he is my daddy. 6 years later I'm still here...ready to leave but just can't do it. I can't leave him without help, I guess I just don't trust anyone else with the company that I have helped shape.
But now we are back to this wasn't part of the plan. Don't get me wrong, I love my family, I love my kids with ever fiber of my being, but there is always part of me that thinks I should have left, walked away when I had the chance.
Have I mentioned the dream job...MBA internship, with international assignments, lasting 3 years with guarenteed job position at the end....dream job...which I guess mean I keep dreaming...

I love pictures...
I love pictures. They are fun to take, sorta fun to be in, and wonderful to hang on my walls. Our friend John, who is in photography school, took the most wonderful pictures of CW and ZM over Thanksgiving. He put some of them up on his blog here. I can't believe how incredibly talented he is...as I previously pointed out, this is not my area of talent.

Cloth
Have I mentioned I love (*LOVE*) cloth diapers. They are totally addictive! For those who cloth know EXACTLY what I am talking about. Plus right now ZM and CW are wearing the same size diapers so this is much cheaper than buying tons of diapers.
But, to ooo about my diapers, I got several new ones this week. Normally we use TFFs but I decided to branch out. I ended up with a Goodmama, 2 MonkeyBunz, and a Piddle Poodle...plus a couple bg fitteds. The thing that is driving me nuts though is that my new covers are leaking. I think I got two bad ones so I have a phone call into the company. Hopefully they will replace them soon.
So come on mamas (and papas) what are your favorite cloth??? Personally, I am really liking the piddle poodle more than the goodmama (gasp!) but my favorites seem to be the bamboo bgs (and they are so much cheaper than the others).

Funny, Funny Child
She never ceases to amaze me....
Yesterday evening we got back from our wonderful trip to Kansas. It was raining and all around cold so we got both kids changed into their pjs. ZM was sitting in his bouncy seat while CW was running around drinking her juice. But she kept stealing the paci from ZM. This has been an ongoing issue, she hasn't used a paci for over 6 months but suddenly she wants his. Finally in an effort to stop this we explained that she was a big girl and big girls get juice but if she wanted the paci then she couldn't have her juice. So she stole the paci and we took away her juice (yes mean mean mommy). She gave it back and got her juice back. This happened a second time. After this I commented to hubby that this was going to blow up in our face when she traded the juice for the paci. Not even five minutes later she walks up, hands me the juice, pulls the paci out of Z's mouth and takes off. running. giggling.

Yup that's my daughter...her mother's child!
Then this morning I was changing Z's diaper. Now you all know what happens when you change little boys diapers. I was really careful and kept it covered but I needed a new diaper cover so I was over looking in the laundry basket when I heard "splash splash splash" and hear C giggle. Hmmm. C in her sweetness thought Z would want to go nakie and took the diaper that was covering Z off. Pee all over my nightstand and the floor.
Again, that's my daughter!

My own creativity...
I am probably the least creative person you know. My friend Nat knits wonderfully beautiful things, my friend Meg makes her own diapers, our friend John takes great pictures (usually of my kids) and other friends create scrapbooks for their children....I do none of these! Now when CW and ZM are old enough I will be great at helping with homework but creative things like art are going to be at risk.
So you can imagine how incredibly proud I am of the fact that I made CW a tutu. Keep in mind I have been looking for a reason to get her a tutu for EVER. Hubby kept saying no. I finally, brilliantly if I do say so myself, figured out that if I made her be Tinkerbell for Halloween then I could get a tutu. But of course when I recommended Tinkerbell, hubby started getting all technical about it--he loves the Peter Pan story. And OBVIOUSLY none of the tutus I could find were up to 'his' standard. Since google is my friend, I figured I would just find an easy to make one and make one, cause obviously he wouldn't be dumb enough to criticize one that his wife so lovingly made lol. Luckily it is a rather easy project and I managed not to screw it--well at least I think it is perfect. It was so easy I made another one this weekend that is two shades of blue. But according to dear old Mother in law I made it too tight--thus too puffy! Luckily that wonderful baby of mine doesn't care and twirls around whenever you put it on her.

October
Have I mentioned that I love October. It is such a wonderful time of year, the weather is gorgeous. And there is BASEBALL! Being from Nebraska you would think we would be a football fan family but hubby is a KU fan so that destroys that...so we watch baseball.
We actually happen to be down in good old Kansas visiting family. We went out to eat lunch around noon today, keeping in mind the KU game started at 1130. The resturant was really empty so I commented to hubby that it was nice because no one was there due to the game. He looks at me and laughs and says they aren't busy cause it is a little early for the lunch rush, we aren't in Nebraska, life doesn't stop for KU like it does for the Huskers.
Have I mentioned Boston is winning against Tampa Bay....

Where, oh where, does the time go
I just realized that I have failed in all my blogging efforts the last couple of weeks (okay, lets say months just to be fair!). Between school and work my computer time has been severly limited.
Just to update you, I am no longer Pregers (YIPPEE). ZM decided to come three and a half weeks early so we had a great SEPTEMBER surprise! He is a wonderful baby and is doing very well despite being in the NICU for a couple of days. If CW would get rid of this fever our house would be golden. Especially since ZM sleeps through the night and so does CW when she isn't sick. *Yes you can hate me*
I promise to be more up on my postings!!
PS GO BOSTON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Gotta love the race for OCTOBER...
